Tex-Mex Burgers

Put a southwestern twist on your next burgers. I made these last night and they came out juicy and full of flavor. You can add some heat with the hot sauce of your choice, or you can leave it out and enjoy the tastes of the other ingredients.

Burger Ingredients:
¾  pound ground turkey breast
¾  pound ground beef
½ cup salsa
½ cup onion, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon cumin
¼ cup cilantro, chopped
Sea salt and pepper
Hot sauce to taste (optional)

Toppings:
Lettuce (several large leaves)
Avocado, sliced
Tomato, sliced
Salsa

To Prepare:
Put all burger ingredients in a bowl and blend until well combined. Shape into patties. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet. Add the patties and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip them over and continue cooking until they feel firm to the touch. (They must be cooked all the way through because you are using turkey.)

Place one burger on several lettuce leaves. Top with the avocado, tomato, and salsa.
